U17s 5 - 11 Milton Keynes

In this close League encounter on a sunny Marston morning, stout defending by Quins proved not enough against a determined Milton Keynes and a large amount of self-inflicted penalties. In addition, some poor handling cost Quins significant territory at key points during the match.

Quins defence held up against intense pressure by Milton Keynes in the first 25 min, and while Quins managed the occasional foray into the opposition half it was not sustained - although a couple of difficult penalty kicks might have led to us going ahead into half-time, instead of the no-score stalemate at that point.

After half-time, Milton Keynes managed to take an easier penalty, and eventually broke through for an unconverted try. In reply, Quins pack drove over in the corner for a try touched down by Rhys, with the attempted conversion coming back off the post. Milton Keynes sealed the game with a further penalty kick. A strong battling performance from Daniel earned him the man of the match.
