U9s: half and half against Richmond and Oxford

Notwithstanding a few bumps and bruises, it was a very enjoyable morning, and many thanks to the ORFC U9 coaching team who got the programme sorted for the teams.

U9 B beat Wallingford in Shield final

On paper the B team had the daunting prospect of a pool that included Henley, Oxford, Chipping Norton, and Bicester.  As ever, we had to be on our toes from the start if we were to make an impression.

U9 A in narrow Plate Final defeat

First-up was the match against Wheatley. We somehow clicked very early, and played some excellent rugby, with several seasoned observers commenting that this was possibly our best display of the season.

U9s: 8/9 v. High Wycombe (updated)

This was a great morning’s rugby for the OH teams, played against three very tough and fair High Wycombe sides.  All in all it was a very enjoyable session and much credit to High Wycombe RFC themselves who were very welcoming to us all and excellent hosts.

There was plenty of game time for everyone as the U9s lined up as the Blues, Oranges and Squares against Grove.

In terms of scores, Banbury in general came off better - especially their A team who were unbeaten during the day, so well done to them!

Five out of six for U9s

Both our teams did really well, and we finally got some tries and some wins under our belts.  As ever the kids really lifted themselves when the pressure was on and improved as the day went forward (especially when it got more sunny!)…
